Ep. 892 - Foundations
MINISTRY MOMENT
What are you rooted in? What is your foundation? If your roots are planted in Jesus, you will grow deep in the Lord, and your life will be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you've been taught and you will abound or overflow with thankfulness.
PRAYER POINT
“Lord, I want to be firmly planted and rooted in You and Your truth. Please show me any area of my life that is not rooted in You and give me the grace to uproot those areas so that I can be fully and firmly planted in You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
GOING DEEPER
Read and study Colossians 2:7, Ephesians 3:17, Ephesians 2:19-22, and 1 Corinthians 3:11.
WALK IT OUT
Be aware of what you are rooted in. If you recognize an area of your life that is not rooted in Jesus, repent, and ask for God’s grace to uproot that area and plant yourself in Jesus. And as you grow in the truth, watch as the fruit of your growth overflows with thankfulness!
SHARE WITH OTHERS
Share with others the progression found in Colossians 2:7: we grow deep in the Lord and our lives are built on Him, then our faith will grow strong in the truth we’ve been taught and we will abound or overflow with thankfulness. It’s like our faith is our roots, and the truth is the soil, so our faith is rooted in the ground of God’s truth, and the fruit it bears is thankfulness. As we grow in the Lord and in our faith, there should be the fruit of thankfulness because we realize that it all comes from Him, and is because of Him, for Him and through Him, so we can't stop thanking Him!
